Aglite Pollutant Sensor

AGLITE is a cost-effective, space-grade, vehicle-portable, rugged remote sensing system developed by the Active Sensors Team to help agricultural operation owners to maintain their operations within the regulatory standards for pollution. Animal production operations produce harmful emissions (e.g., ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, nitrous oxides) that can negatively impact human health, property values, and the environment. AGLITE tracks and characterizes these pollutants in order to aid in their reduction.

Continuing development of the system will likely result in a spin-off company and government tasks involving emission credit trading. The Active Sensors Team’s work on this technology was featured in Agricultural Research (Aug. 2006).
