Research Expertise and Capabilities
Members of the Active Sensors Team come from Utah State University (USU) and the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL). As one of twelve Department of Defense (DoD) University Affiliated Research Centers (UARCs) in the nation, the SDL employs over 300 people and has drawn nearly $50M in revenue over the past three years.
Founded in 1959, the SDL has been responsible for the design, fabrication, and operation of thousands of sensors on over 400 payloads ranging from aircraft and rocket-borne experiments, to space shuttle payloads and satellite-based sensor suites.
